Mexican Bus Ride (original title in Spanish: Subida al cielo, "Ascent to Heaven") is a 1952 Mexican comedy film directed by Luis Buñuel and starring Lilia Prado. It was entered into the 1952 Cannes Film Festival. Ed Gonzalez of Slant Magazine called Mexican Bus Ride "a beautiful, spiritual film, albeit a messy one. In his autobiography, "My Last Sigh", Luis Buñuel wrote that the screenplay was based on adventures that actually happened to his friend and producer of the film, Spanish poet Manuel Altolaguirre, while on a bus trip.
